Connect a downspout to an underground drain line. Flexible PVC slips into place with no clamps or glue, and lifts off when you need to check the line.
Is your drain line 3″ or 4″? Use a Downspout Connector. If your downspout runs into a larger 6″ pipe at or above grade, use a Universal Downspout Connector: you trace your downspout on top and cut the opening to fit.
For 3″ and 4″ drain pipe. Match your downspout shape and your pipe size.
Into 3″ drain pipe
For 2½″ square downspouts, or 3″ round and 3″ x 2″ rectangular downspouts.
The 4″ connectors work with Sch 40 PVC, ABS, SDR-35 and corrugated drain pipe.
For 6″ pipe. Trace your downspout and cut the opening to fit, even if the downspout is off-center.
6″ cap, fits over the pipe
For pipe that sticks up above ground. Fits over the outside of 6″ PVC and cast iron pipe only. Takes a downspout up to 6″ measured corner to corner.
6″ plug, fits into the pipe
For pipe cut off at grade. Fits inside any pipe with a 6″ inside diameter. Takes a downspout up to 5.75″ measured corner to corner.
No clamps or glue. Snips or a saw to cut the downspout, and a pencil and utility knife for the Universal.
Run the line to a storm drain, a pop-up emitter or daylight, away from the house and where local code allows. Don’t connect a downspout to a sanitary sewer or a footing drain.

Start with the pipe in the ground. For 3″ or 4″ drain pipe, pick the Downspout Connector that matches your downspout shape. For a 6″ pipe, use the Universal cap if the pipe sticks up above ground, or the plug if it’s cut off at grade.
No. The flexible PVC fits snugly over the downspout and the pipe.
Yes. Lift the downspout and connector off to look into the line or flush it out with a hose.
It closes the gap between the downspout and the drain pipe, which helps keep out debris and pests. It doesn’t filter what comes down the downspout, so keep your gutters clean.
Not to a sanitary sewer. Plumbing codes keep roof water out of sewage lines, and many cities require downspouts to be disconnected from combined sewers. Connect to a storm drain or drain line only where your local code allows.
Yes. PDSC-43 is the retail card version of the DSC-43.
