A fitting that flexes to the job.
Molded flexible PVC with 300 series stainless steel clamps, 1½″ through 4″. It works into tight spaces, joins pipe materials that do not match, spans the gap a removed fitting leaves behind, and goes together with a driver.
Tight access
Flexible PVC lets you work the fitting into place where a rigid one cannot be maneuvered or rotated into the run.
Mixed materials
Cast iron, Schedule 40 PVC, ABS and steel in the same above-ground DWV run, without hunting for a transition fitting.
Cut out at the joint
The extra body length covers the gap a removed fitting leaves behind, so you are not cutting pipe back or adding couplings to make up the difference.
No glue, and serviceable
Nothing to prime, cement or wait on, and no cure time before you can test. The joint is permanent, but loosen two clamps and it opens again if you ever need back in.
Cut it at the hub. It still reaches.
Pull a rigid tee or elbow by cutting at the hub and you are left with a gap wider than the fitting you took out. A rigid replacement leaves you short. These are built longer on purpose, so the fitting itself makes up the difference.
That extra body is the whole point of the design. It is the difference between dropping a fitting straight into the opening and rebuilding a section of the run.
- Tees. Up to 20% longer than a standard sanitary tee of the same size.
- Wyes. Up to 20% longer than a standard DWV wye of the same size.
- 90° ells. Extra length for the same reason, in four sizes.
- 45° ells. Sized for layout flexibility in confined spaces rather than extra reach.
Turns a corner glue can’t.
Cast iron into PVC. ABS into steel. Two inches down to one and a half. A branch in a wall cavity with no room to swing a rigid fitting into place. One fitting covers all of it, with a driver and nothing else. Where both ends are the same material and the same size and you have room to work, solvent welding is still a fine answer, and most experienced installers will reach for it.
When the joint isn’t straightforward
- The two ends are different materials
- One end needs to be a size smaller, with a bushing
- Access is tight and a rigid fitting cannot be worked into place
- You are replacing a fitting that was cut out at the joint
- Primer and cement are not practical, or conditions are wrong for them
- You may need to open the joint again later
When the joint is straightforward
- Both ends are the same material and the same size
- You have clear access and room to work
- The run is finished and nobody needs back into the joint
- You are already set up with primer and cement on the job

Change size and direction in one fitting.
Drop a Fernco Qwik Bushing into any opening that needs to come down a size.
The fitting handles the turn, the bushing handles the reduction, and the joint is done in one connection instead of a fitting plus a reducer plus another joint. Order the fitting at the larger nominal size and add the bushing that matches the smaller side.

What does “extra length” actually mean?
Tees and wyes are built up to 20% longer than the standard rigid fitting of the same size. When you cut an old fitting out at the joint, the opening left behind is wider than the fitting you removed. The added length lets the replacement span that opening instead of forcing you to cut pipe back or add couplings.
Should I use one of these or just glue in a rigid fitting?
Both are permanent connections, so it comes down to the joint in front of you and how you want to make it. A directional fitting is far easier to get right: slide it on, seat the pipe, tighten the clamps. There is no primer, no cement, no cure time, no fumes and no ventilation to worry about, and nothing that has to be done in one shot before the solvent sets. If you have not glued pipe before, or you are working in a tight cabinet or a finished space, that matters. Solvent welding makes sense when both ends are the same material and the same size, you have room to work, and you are already set up for it.
Can I connect two different pipe materials?
Yes. That is one of the main reasons to use them. Cast iron, Schedule 40 PVC, ABS and steel all work in the same above-ground DWV run, with no separate transition fitting.
Can one end be a smaller size?
Yes, using a Fernco Qwik Bushing in the opening that needs to come down. Order the fitting at the larger nominal size and add the bushing for the smaller side. A 2″ fitting with a QB-215, for example, takes 1½″ pipe on that end. Bushings are sold separately and there is a table above showing which fits what.
Do I need primer, cement or special tools?
No. They install with the stainless steel clamps and a driver. Nothing to prime, glue or heat, and no cure time before you can test.
Can they be used underground or on pressure pipe?
No. These are above-ground drain, waste and vent fittings only. They are not buried fittings and they are not rated for pressure piping.
What sizes are the 45° ells and wyes available in?
1½″ and 2″, as Q45-150 and Q45-200 for the 45° ells and QY-150 and QY-200 for the wyes. Tees and 90° ells go up to 4″.
