If you can core through it,QwikSeal can connect to it.
Built to be specified, and to go in fast.
QwikSeal is a single molded gasket with an internal pipe stop, secured by one clamp. Nothing to assemble in the trench, and the numbers to back it on a submittal.
One piece. No hub.
The seal is one molded EPDM gasket. There is no separate hub, sleeve or band set to fit together in the hole, and no cure time.
Tested to ASTM C923
Gasket conforms to ASTM C923 and is performance tested to Section 7: straight alignment, 7° axial deflection and shear load, all with no leaks.
316 stainless clamp
SAE J1508 Type HD clamp, every component 316 stainless steel to ASTM A240. 60 in-lb installation torque, 150 in-lb ultimate.
Five parts cover it
4″, 6″ and 8″ laterals in SDR-35 or SCH 40, into mains 8″ and larger. Green is SDR-35, grey is SCH 40, so the crew grabs the right one.
Connects to what you’re coring.
Concrete, clay, solid-wall PVC and corrugated plastic. The lateral is 4″, 6″ or 8″. The main is 8″ and larger, with no upper limit on concrete, clay or solid-wall pipe.
Five parts. Two colors.
Pick the lateral size and the lateral pipe type. Green QwikSeals fit SDR-35 (and SDR-26) laterals; grey QwikSeals fit SCH 40. Each part lists the smallest main it fits and the hole to core.
- Green = SDR-35 / SDR-26. QS-4, QS-6, QS-8. Color matches SDR-35 pipe.
- Grey = SCH 40. QS-4S40, QS-6S40. Color matches PVC-GRY-60.
- Hole size follows the lateral. 5″ for 4″, 7″ for 6″, 9″ for 8″.

Four moves in the trench.
Everything happens from outside the main. The full 13-step instructions, including the stub-and-fitting, bell-end and street-fitting methods, are in the installation sheet below.
Core the hole
Core a perpendicular hole in the main: 5″ for a 4″ lateral, 7″ for 6″, 9″ for 8″. File or sand the edge clean of burrs.
Seat the QwikSeal
Remove the clamp, fold the QwikSeal and push it through the opening. Unfold it and pull up until it stops against the inside of the pipe.
Cut the stub
Measure from the pipe stop to the top edge, add the fitting depth, and cut the stub to length. Bevel the leading edge and lubricate.
Drive and clamp
Start the stub by hand, drive it to the pipe stop with a block and hammer, then install the clamp at 60 in-lb.
Hole saws for plastic
Tempered steel hole saws for all plastic pipe, including high-profile corrugated. Use a low-speed, high-torque drill. Not for steel, concrete or clay.

Coring bits for concrete and clay
Diamond-tipped abrasive bits for reinforced and non-reinforced concrete and clay. Fit standard coring machines. Use water as coolant.

Five minutes, not two hours.
“They were having trouble yesterday putting in a competitor’s product and after two hours of screwing around with it, they gave up for the day. I showed up this morning and within five minutes, they had the QwikSeal installed. Both the contractor and the county were extremely happy with the results, and they asked me to make sure all of our distributors were stocking the QS-4, QS-6 and QS-8.”

Common questions.
Which QwikSeal do I need?
Start with the lateral. A 4″ lateral takes QS-4 (SDR-35) or QS-4S40 (SCH 40); 6″ takes QS-6 or QS-6S40; 8″ takes QS-8. Green is SDR-35, grey is SCH 40. Then check the main meets the minimum size for that part: 8″ for the 4″ parts, 10″ for the 6″ parts, 15″ for QS-8.
What size hole do I core?
5″ for a 4″ lateral, 7″ for 6″, 9″ for 8″. Use a Fernco hole saw on plastic pipe and a diamond coring bit on concrete or clay.
Is it watertight on corrugated pipe?
On corrugated mains QwikSeal makes a soil-tight connection, in hosts from 8″ to 24″. The hydrostatic and ASTM C923 ratings on this page apply to concrete, clay and solid-wall plastic pipe.
Can I use QwikSeal on metal pipe?
It is not recommended for connection to metal pipe.
Is there an upper limit on the main size?
Not for concrete, clay or solid-wall pipe. If you can core the hole, the seal fits; the protrusion table above runs to 60″ mains. Corrugated hosts are 8″ to 24″.
Does it need glue, grout or a cure time?
No. The seal is compressed by the clamp against the lateral and seats on the inside wall of the main. Lubricate the seal and stub, drive to the pipe stop, and clamp at 60 in-lb.
What about settlement and misalignment?
QwikSeal is tested to ASTM C923 Section 7 at 7° of axial deflection and under a shear load of 150 lb per nominal inch of pipe ID, both at 10 psi with no leaks.
Is there a submittal sheet?
Yes. The Engineering Specifications sheet above is a one-page submittal with project, engineer and contractor fields, the gasket data and the clamp specification.
