A quick, permanent fix for a broken drain pipe. Use it when a joint fails or a pipe gets damaged, like a drill or nail through a pipe in the wall.

Two Fernco 1056 Series flexible couplings
A 12″ piece of Sch 40 PVC pipe
12″ fits between studs on 16″ centers
Tighten with a screwdriver, nut driver or drill

How it goes

For vertical or horizontal pipe, with proper strapping or support.

Measuring and marking a vertical PVC drain pipe inside an opened wall — 1Measure and markMark the damaged section to cut out, using the kit as a guide.

Tightening a QwikFix coupling clamp on a pipe inside the wall with a screwdriver — 2Cut and connectCut out the damaged pipe, set the new piece in place and slide a coupling over each joint.

A finished QwikFix repair: new PVC pipe with a coupling at each end, between two studs — 3Tighten and testTighten the clamps on both couplings, then run water and check for leaks.

Common questions

Which size do I need?

Match the kit to the nominal size of your drain pipe: 1-1/2″, 2″, 3″ or 4″.

Will it work on cast iron or steel pipe?

Yes. The couplings fit plastic (Sch 40 PVC and ABS), cast iron and steel pipe of the same nominal size.

Can I use it on a water supply line?

No. QwikFix is for drain, waste and vent pipe only, with a test pressure up to 4.3 psi.

What if the damage is longer than 12″?

The kit replaces up to a 12″ section. For a longer repair, reach out and we’ll help you find the right couplings.
