Fernco Qwik Wye and Qwik 45 degree elbow joining steel and PVC drain pipe

A plumbing repair gets complicated fast when there’s little room to work or the existing pipes are different materials. Fernco’s new Qwik Wye and Qwik 45° Elbow join the Directional Fittings lineup to help with exactly that. Like the Qwik Tee and Qwik 90° Elbow, both are made in the USA.

Fernco Directional Fittings: Qwik Tee, Qwik 90 degree Elbow, and the new Qwik 45 degree Elbow and Qwik Wye in 1.5 and 2 inch sizes
The Directional Fittings lineup now covers four ways to turn or branch a drain line.

What’s new

Both fittings come in 1½″ and 2″ sizes for above-ground drain, waste and vent piping. The wye adds an angled branch connection. The 45° elbow gives you another way to change a pipe run’s direction. Because the bodies are flexible, they’re easier to position in spots where a rigid fitting is hard to maneuver.

At a glance

  • Sizes: 1½″ and 2″
  • Connects: Schedule 40 PVC, ABS, cast iron and steel, in any combination
  • Use: above-ground, nonpressure drain, waste and vent
  • Install: no glue, primer or cure time
  • Made in the USA

For homeowners and DIYers

There’s no glue, primer or cement cure time. You position the fitting and tighten the clamps, which helps if you don’t work on plumbing every day.

You can also get back in later. Fernco clamp connections loosen for disassembly, so if the fitting stays accessible, you have a practical way back into the joint for maintenance or future changes.

For professionals

The value is clearest on repairs that involve different pipe materials. The fittings connect Schedule 40 PVC, ABS, cast iron and steel, so the same fitting can change direction or add a branch and handle the material transition.

Two jobs, one fitting.

When existing piping leaves little room to work, that gives you another way to complete the connection. See the full materials list and ratings in the Directional Fittings specifications.

Need to change size too?

Fernco Qwik Bushings, sold separately, let one opening take a smaller pipe. For example, a QB-215 bushing lets one opening of a 2″ fitting accept 1½″ pipe, so you can join 1½″ and 2″ piping and make the turn or branch in the same fitting.

Bottom line

Whether the job calls for a new branch, a change in direction or a connection you can open later, the expanded lineup gives you more flexibility where the work happens.

Note: Qwik Wyes and Qwik 45° Elbows are for above-ground, nonpressure drain, waste and vent applications only. Correct sizing, pipe support and installation per Fernco’s instructions remain essential.
