Flexible pipe caps
Cap DWV pipe ends, stub-outs and cleanouts. Slide it on, tighten it down, and it holds a water test up to 4.3 psi. Loosen it and it comes back off.
For DWV and other non-pressure lines. Not for water supply.
Where it works
A flexible PVC cap with stainless steel clamps. Qwik Caps close off pipe ends and cleanouts on plastic, cast iron, steel, clay, concrete and corrugated pipe, above or below ground, as a temporary or permanent cap.
Cap the open ends and run the water test, up to the pressure of a 10-foot water test.
Leave it on stub-outs and rough-ins until the fixture or the next run goes in.
21 stocked sizes for 0.79″ to 14.30″ pipe O.D. For bigger pipe, we make custom caps to fit.
Loosen it and pull it off. The same cap goes on the next job.
Qwik Caps are for DWV and other non-pressure lines. Not for pressure systems such as potable water.
Size finder
Choose your pipe and size, or enter its measured outside diameter.
Not sure what you have? Measure across the outside of the pipe end. Clay, concrete and corrugated pipe vary by maker, so measure those.

Sizes and ranges from Fernco product data. “Best cap for” uses standard outside diameters: Schedule 40 plastic and steel (IPS), no-hub cast iron (CISPI 301) and PVC sewer SDR 35 (ASTM D3034). Other pipe in a cap’s O.D. range fits too, so measure when in doubt. Part numbers link to dimensional drawings where available.
Why a Qwik Cap
A flexible PVC body, a convex face and stainless steel clamps. That’s the whole cap.
A domed face that closes off the pipe end.
Complies with ASTM D5926 and fits most pipe materials within its O.D. range.
300 series stainless steel, tightened to 60 in-lb.

Not for pressure systems. Do not use Qwik Caps on pressurized lines such as potable water supply.
Bigger pipe, made to order
For pipe 6.50″ O.D. and larger, including sizes past the Qwik Cap range. Each cap is fabricated to fit your pipe’s outside diameter.
Non-pressure only. Not for testing. On vertical pipe the cap is not a load-bearing surface. Do not stand or step on it.
Catalog pages and installation instructions for Qwik Caps and Custom Large Diameter Debris Caps.
Yes, for a water test up to 4.3 psi, the pressure of a 10-foot water test. Custom Large Diameter Debris Caps are not for testing.
No. Qwik Caps are for DWV and other non-pressure lines only. Never use them on a pressurized line such as a potable water supply.
Use the size finder. Pick Schedule 40, no-hub cast iron or SDR 35 pipe by size, or measure the pipe’s outside diameter and enter it. Each cap fits a range of pipe O.D.s.
Many supply houses call a flexible pipe cap with a clamp a Jim cap. The Fernco Qwik Cap is that kind of cap, made of flexible PVC with stainless steel clamps.
Yes. Loosen it, pull the cap off and use it again. It can also stay on as a permanent cap.
Fernco makes Custom Large Diameter Debris Caps to your pipe’s outside diameter, for pipe 6.50″ O.D. and larger. They are for non-pressure use and are not for testing.
